Today’s recipe is something I keep in my fridge at all times! Nước Mắm Chấm Chay, otherwise translated to vegan Vietnamese dipping sauce is a very common sauce that is traditionally fish-sauce-based that I’ve veganized thanks to my grandma 😉
It’s every bit as sweet, spicy, savoury and garlicky as its non-vegan original but this is even better with the one and only, Golden Mountain seasoning sauce!
Stay tuned for the collab video with Mary’s Test Kitchen where we both share some delicious food for new years, and I make something to enjoy with this dipping sauce!

Hey y'all! If you want to catch me live on stream, I'll be streaming from 2:30 – 6 (ish) (EST) on Twitch if you wanna join me 🙂
Is that half a cup of soy? It looks like it's more what you're pouring in. Also yours is darker than mine. I'm using the same soy as you… Also the bottle soy that you're showing is less full than mine after taking out half a cup. Is what came out of that bottle all used in this recipe? If so I can use that as a reference.
And last thing 🙂 On your website there is a picture of the ingredients but there you use lemons. Over here limes. Does it matter in terms of flavor which one you use?
<3
Yum this looks good! Thanks! I’ll try to make it
Yes thank you. My aunt made this sauce and it was good but it had the fish sauce! Im super excited ty lol
This is awesome! Thank you for sharing the recipe, I've been experimenting with it but always feels like I'm missing something. I can't wait to try yours!

Can i use this seasoning sauce in place of fish sauce in making kimchi?
I need to make some, less spicy, of course. Lol 💜
WARM greetings from Rexdale! I live across from a multi-cultural store that has everything. I was lacking skills to overcome my european roots of cabbage, pototoes, pork – you are it! Liked and subscribed. Oddly enough, I have glutinous rice flour & mung beans on hand, will make those mung bean dumplings, and then this sauce.
I know Nuoc Mam! Can you imagine if we weren't vegan taking a shot of that every morning to get our probiotics?! I don't mean to sweetened the sauce. 😷😲😷
This looks so good I can't wait to try it
ah so how long would you say this lasts? 🙂
I cant eat sugar. Do you think the recipe would still taste good without sugar?
OH MY GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH. I'D BEEN THINKING ABOUT A WAY TO VEGANIZE THIS FOR YEARS
In the northwest we call it the viet crack sauce 😋

If you use the chili garlic sauce how much do you use ? Do you still use the water and sugar ?
I like using mushroom soy sauce as fish sauce
Did you know that white sugar is filtered with animal bone char?
