Learn how to make onion fritters (also known as onion latkes) – easy and delicious vegetarian recipe. 3 kind of onions that makes these fritters even more delicious.
Ingredients:
3 large white onions
1 large red onion
1 leek
1/4 bunch parsley
1/2 cup (62g) flour
2/3 cup (111g) semolina
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 crushed garlic cloves
2-3 tablespoons olive oil
3 medium eggs
Vegetable oil for frying
Directions:
1. Slice onions and leek. Heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions for 10-12 minutes. Until soft and golden. Transfer to a large bowl.
2. Chop fresh parsley and add to the bowl. Add garlic cloves, eggs, semolina, flour, salt and pepper. mix well and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
3. In a large skillet heat oil over medium heat. Drop 1-2 tablespoons of batter into the oil, press lightly to flatten. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown, drain on paper towels.
