Didn't finish my tweaking: 2 teaspoons (approximate) of dry basil and parsley. Because of the soup powder I did not need to add any salt and the soup was (is) just fabulous. I was never a fan of cabbage, but this soup changed my mind and taste. Thank you.
I just made this soup and just tweaked it a little bit: (1) added about 3-4 tablespoons of chopped garlic to the vegies; (2) I didn't have soup cubes or tomato juice so I just used about 3 tablespoons of soup powder and (3) added 2

Is it okay if I dont add tomato or vegetable juice? Or could I replace it with tomato puree?
Great recipe, however it is not the "original" Cabbage or Peel-a-Pound Soup recipe. The original recipe, which I made almost 30 years ago back in college, only called for cabbage, onions, tomatoes and onion soup mix, some times celery. Nonetheless, I like the new additions of peppers and mushrooms. However, sauteing the veggies in oil defeats the purpose of a very low calorie meal.
A relaxing hunger came over me while watching this video. I need to go to the grocery store and get the ingredients. I think I will add some Crystal Hot Sauce to my batch.
