   They’re both sweet potatoes. A yam is a totally different root vegetable native to Africa; an old marketing scheme by the state of South Carolina to sell more sweet potatoes started labeling orange sweet potatoes as “yams”, but it’s misleading and wholly inaccurate.

    You almost could have made this into your version of a Shepard’s pie with the sweet potatoes and the tofu cheese as the top and the lentil mixture as the base. I’m sure it was delicious!
